Delhi CM declines 8th ED summon, agrees virtual appearance after March 12

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has once again abstained from appearing before the ED, skipping the eighth summons related to the Delhi excise policy case. In response to the latest summons, Kejriwal has asserted the legality of the ED's notice as "illegal" but expressed readiness to participate in a virtual session with the agency after March 12.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader's decision to decline the eighth summons was confirmed through a written reply to the Enforcement Directorate. The ED had requested Kejriwal's presence on March 4 for questioning in connection with the money laundering probe tied to alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy.

In a statement issued by the AAP, it was clarified, "Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has sent a reply to the Enforcement Directorate. He said the summons is illegal but still he is ready to answer. Arvind Kejriwal has asked for a date after March 12 from ED. After that, Arvind Kejriwal will attend the hearing via video conferencing."

The Aam Aadmi Party national convener, who has skipped seven summons so far, was sent another summons for the eighth time on February 27 by the enforcement agency to appear before it today.
